Getting Started
No migration is required to start. You can run Budy alongside your current system, and we import products, members, and historical sales from most common POS exports (CSV, JSON, or direct database dumps). If your current vendor is restrictive about exports, our team handles the extraction with you.
The checkout flow is designed to be learned in about ten minutes. Cashiers use a touch interface that mirrors how they already ring up sales. Owners and managers get a short guided tour of dashboards, inventory, and reports. We also provide voice-narrated in-app training guides your team can replay anytime.
Yes. You can run the full app in demo mode with sample data, or we can provision a real tenant for a no-obligation trial. Your data stays yours, and there is nothing to uninstall on the hardware side if you decide it is not for you.

Hardware & Devices
A single Android tablet or phone is enough to start. For a full shop, most owners add a receipt printer, a cash drawer, a barcode scanner, and optionally a Bluetooth scale for weighed products. Budy runs on Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS — so existing devices usually work.
Most likely yes. We support the common hardware you already own: SUNMI all-in-one terminals, ESC/POS receipt printers, Niimbot label printers, Acaia and generic Bluetooth scales, and USB or Bluetooth barcode scanners. If your device is not listed, send us the model — we add new drivers often.
You can do either. We have a recommended hardware list with vetted suppliers, and in some regions we ship pre-configured bundles that arrive ready to use out of the box. If you prefer to source locally, we will help you pick compatible models.
Yes. The Cast Display feature drives a Samsung TV or any Miracast/HDMI screen as a customer-facing second display — rotating through offers, featured products, welcome messages, and the live order. It runs on a separate engine so it never slows the POS.

Offline Mode & Sync
You keep selling. Budy is offline-first by design — every product, member, price, and rule lives on the device. Sales continue, receipts print, members get their points. When the connection returns, everything syncs automatically in the background. You never lose a sale to a bad Wi-Fi day.
Yes. After your first online login, Budy caches your credentials securely on the device. You can also set up a PIN or face login for offline access. Permissions degrade gracefully over extended offline periods — so a cashier can still ring up sales even if a manager has not reconnected the device in days.
Budy uses a real-time, multi-master sync engine that keeps every device in your shop consistent. Edit a product on one tablet and it appears everywhere within seconds. Sales from different registers merge without conflicts. It works across your shop floor, your back office, and your phone.

Yes. Budy was built alongside medical cannabis dispensaries, so strains, terpenes, cannabinoid attributes, potency labeling, compliance fields, and weight-based pricing with scale integration are first-class features — not bolted on.
Absolutely. The same engine runs coffee shops, bakeries, grocery-style markets, and specialty retailers. Modifiers, variants, recipes, bundles, loyalty, and purchase flows are all general-purpose. The industry-specific parts (cannabis compliance, barista modifiers) activate based on your shop type.
Yes — the app, receipts, customer-facing screens, and product catalog all support multilingual content. Translations can be generated automatically by the Smart Scanner, and staff can switch language on the fly. This is essential for Thailand, tourist markets, and multilingual teams.
Yes. Members, points, tiers, rewards, birthday offers, and promotion rules are included out of the box. You can also run a connected web shop on your own branded subdomain, where members log in, earn the same points, and redeem them online or in store.
Yes. Every Budy tenant comes with an optional web shop on a branded subdomain. Inventory, prices, products, and members are shared live with the POS — so stock numbers are always correct, and an online order hits the shop instantly with a push notification.

Data, Privacy & Security
You do. Your sales, members, products, and reports belong to you. We do not sell data, we do not advertise on top of it, and you can export everything — or walk away with it — at any time.
Primary data lives on your own devices (offline-first), and a synced copy is stored in a dedicated database per tenant on our cloud. Each shop gets strict tenant isolation, so no customer ever sees another customer’s data — even at the database level.
Yes. All network traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). Sync traffic uses authenticated channels scoped to your tenant. Sensitive fields like offline credentials are hashed locally. Authentication uses industry-standard OAuth2/OpenID flows.
Yes. You can export products, members, sales, and inventory at any time in standard formats. We make export easy on purpose — a POS you cannot leave is a POS you should not trust.

Support & Updates
Email support (support@budy.app), WhatsApp, and LINE are all answered directly by our team. Most questions get a human response within a few hours during business hours. For shops in active rollout, we also offer a shared channel for faster coordination.
Updates ship continuously. The backend deploys multiple times a week, and the mobile apps update every couple of weeks. Updates are backward-compatible — your shop keeps running while new features arrive.
Yes, and we read every request. Many of the features in Budy today came from owners telling us what their existing POS refused to do. We will not promise every feature makes it in, but we will tell you honestly whether and when it can.
